Belle & Sebastian - 1996 - If You're Feeling Sinister

If you haven't at least heard of Belle & Sebastian then you never been to the UK. Belle & Sebastian is the queinstential demonstration of Art Rock. It defentantly easy music to get into. The allaclaimed debut album "If You're Feeling Sinister" is widely thought of to be there best but to say that would be an insult to the rest of they're albums. The albums definatly a great way to introduce your self to the band which is how all debut albums should be. A debut album should have all songs be simple versions of you overall sound and then on your next album you can show differant forms of what you can make.

My Favorite Song: "Mayfly"

Beck - 2002 - Sea Change

Artists who know that there gonna be around for a long time also know there going to make an album that is much more differant than the rest of thier music. Thus Beck comes out with "Sea Change" in 2002. Its a very nice change from his usually dynamic music. This album is very mellow and melodic with a touch of ambience. There arent really any hits off this album but the level of goodness stays consistant through out the whole album.

My Favorite Song: "Lost Cause"

Beck - 1998 - Mutations

Beck screams inovation and orginallity. How many bands do you know that are Alterna-Folk. This is definatly one of his best and my favorite by him. This album has less static and noise than previous albums and its title "Mutations" is more of a descripition of whats actually happening to his music than what happens on the album. The song "Deadweight" would be the hit off this album if it was actually on it but alas no. Its only on here because, as far as I know, isn't on any of his other albums.

My Favorite Song: "Tropicalia"

Aqualung - 2002 - Still Life

Aqualung definatly deminstrates consistancy but as this second album came out in the same year as the first its not surpising. In this album there influences defenitly shine through. The hit off this album is "Brighter Than Sunshine".
